General medicine practices will be opened in clinics of the health centers in these settlements. Therefore, in the upcoming period, the health centers will conduct procedures for leasing these clinics according to the Law on Health Protection. Interested medical doctors should participate in the leasing procedure for the clinics. The right to open a new general medicine practice/organizational unit of an existing general medicine practice will be granted to the medical doctor who has signed a lease agreement for the clinic.

The signed lease agreement for the clinic must be submitted by the interested medical doctors to the Ministry of Health to initiate the procedure for opening a practice/organizational unit.

The newly opened general medicine practice/organizational unit of an existing practice will sign a contract with the Health Insurance Fund of Macedonia and will have the following benefits:

  • Payment of an increased capitation amount according to the criteria for rural areas set by the Health Insurance Fund of RM (maximum 90,000 MKD per month and minimum 60,000 MKD per month. From July 1, 2016 – maximum 99,000 MKD per month and minimum 66,000 MKD per month), depending on the total number of insured persons the doctor cares for.

  • The possibility to independently provide health care without the participation of a nurse in the team, but not longer than 24 months from the establishment of the general medicine practice/organizational unit, until the doctor is chosen as the primary doctor by 700 patients, after which the team must be completed.

The interested medical doctor must have passed the professional (state) exam and have a license to practice.

The doctor must provide primary health care to the residents of this settlement and the surrounding area, who in the past period traveled to the nearest settlements for examination by a primary care doctor. The engagement of a primary care doctor aims to make this health service more accessible to residents closer to their place of residence.

The doctor is obligated to be available for telephone consultations with patients on the official phone during working hours. The doctor must contact patients by phone once every three months to monitor their health status.

The doctor is entitled to a fuel allowance for all routes over 25 kilometers that must be traveled to provide health care to their patients.

Interested candidates can submit the required documentation to the archive of the Ministry of Health or by mail at the address: ul. 50 Divizija no. 14, 1000 Skopje, with the note: “Announcement for expression of interest for a primary care doctor in rural areas.”

The deadline for applications is 5 days from the date of announcement publication.
