Minister

Born on 13 April 1966 in Skopje. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” University in Skopje and completed an MBA programme at University American College Skopje (UACS). He is married to Ana and has two children, Angelina and Nikola.

He has thirty years of experience as a manager, analyst, and consultant in the public, civil society, and private sectors.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, he headed the Medical Students’ Association of Macedonia and the Students’ Union of the “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” University.

In 1993, he was one of the founders of the Macedonian Center for International Cooperation (MCIC), serving as its Executive Director from 1994 to 2011. From 1998 to 2008, he managed the Macedonian Enterprise Development Foundation (MEDF), and from 2017 to 2026 he chaired its Board of Trustees.

From July 2024 to July 2026, he served as Director of the Health Insurance Fund of Macedonia (HIFM).

He is the founder of and has served on the governing bodies of several civil society organisations. He was the first Co-Chair of the EU–Republic of Macedonia Civil Society Joint Consultative Committee (2007–2010) and a lecturer in Entrepreneurial Finance in the MBA programme at UACS (2013–2016). He was a member of the Executive Committee of VMRO-DPMNE from 2022 to 2026 and currently chairs the party’s Health Commission.

In the public sector, he contributed to the preparation of key national strategies, including the first Government Strategy for Cooperation with Civil Society (2007–2011) and the first State Programme for the Prevention and Suppression of Corruption (2007–2011). He also contributed to strengthening the capacities of the Ombudsman and the Commission for Prevention and Protection against Discrimination. In the private sector, he worked on strategic analyses, including the Bureaucracy Index (2020–2021), and served as a restructuring consultant.

His professional experience extends beyond Macedonia, encompassing the Balkans, the former Soviet Union, and the European Union.

He is the author of numerous research reports, books, and articles. He was a columnist for Nova Makedonija from 2012 to 2024.
